Unannounced Protest Action Against AfD Information Booth in Kirchhain - Unregistered anti-fascist protest disrupts AfD campaign in Kirchhain
A group of protesters gathered at an AfD campaign stand in Kirchhain on Monday morning. Around 25 to 30 people surrounded the information booth with banners, describing their action as 'anti-fascist'. The protest was unregistered and happened spontaneously. Demonstrators refused to move when asked by police, prompting officers to attempt dissolving the gathering.
Kirchhain’s mayor, Olaf Hausmann of the SPD, arrived at the scene. However, no protest organiser came forward to identify themselves.
Eventually, two protesters were led away by police. The remaining demonstrators then dispersed peacefully. Participants now face administrative proceedings for violating Hesse’s assembly law. The incident marks the latest in a series of clashes involving political demonstrations in the region.
