Vienna's Schima Mayer Starlinger rebrands as Starlinger Mayer in 2025

The Vienna-based law firm Schima Mayer Starlinger Rechtsanwälte has undergone a major rebranding. From July 2025, it will operate as Starlinger Mayer Rechtsanwält:innen GmbH. The change follows the departure of name partner Georg Schima, who joined the firm in 2018 after leaving Kunz Schima Wallentin.

The newly named firm will continue providing legal services under the sms.law brand, maintaining its established identity in the market. The firm was originally founded in 2015 by Thomas Starlinger and Christian Mayer. Both remain as name partners following the rebrand. Starlinger expressed confidence in the firm’s direction, highlighting a strong foundation and a clear sense of identity.

Christian Mayer emphasised that sms.law stands for excellence, specialisation, and reliability. The firm will focus on key areas of business law, including EU & Competition Law, Energy Law, and Corporate/M&A. Other practice areas will cover Banking & Finance, Employment Law, Real Estate Law, and Litigation & Dispute Resolution.

The rebranding reflects a commitment to specialisation, independence, and a trusted partnership structure. Despite the name change, the firm’s core values and service offerings remain unchanged. The transition to Starlinger Mayer Rechtsanwält:innen GmbH marks a new chapter for the firm. It will continue operating under the sms.law brand, ensuring continuity for clients. The focus on specialisation and reliability remains central to its approach.
