City Receives €800,000 for Helmut Schön Sports Park Renovation
Wiesbaden secures €800K to upgrade Helmut Schön Sports Park
The Budget Committee of the German Bundestag has approved an €800,000 grant for the state capital of Wiesbaden under the federal funding program for the "Renovation of Municipal Sports Facilities" to support the "Helmut Schön Sports Park Renovation" project.
Lord Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende welcomed the funding: "This is great news from Berlin—the Budget Committee has decided how to allocate the so-called 'sports billion.' And Wiesbaden stands to benefit: €800,000 will go toward renovating the running tracks and synthetic surfaces at Helmut Schön Sports Park. This is fantastic news. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Dr. Stefan Korbach, Wiesbaden's member of the Bundestag, for his strong advocacy on this issue."
