Almaty's rapid growth transforms schools, jobs, and infrastructure in three years
Almaty Continues Implementation of Amanat Party's Pre-Election Program
At a meeting of the party's deputy faction in Almaty's maslikhat (city council), officials reviewed progress on the 2023–2025 roadmap, Liter.kz reports.
Participants noted that the program is already yielding tangible results, improving the urban environment and quality of life for Almaty residents.
Over three years, the city has built 20 schools with capacity for 34,200 students, added six school extensions for nearly 2,000 more seats, and opened seven kindergartens. Extracurricular education centers—attended weekly by thousands of children—have also expanded.
Healthcare has seen improvements as well.
"Five new medical facilities with a combined capacity of 1,140 daily visits have opened, along with an early intervention center serving 140 patients. Over 1,200 people have received rehabilitation equipment," the party stated.
The city's economy is also growing. Forty-two industrial projects have been launched, creating 9,200 permanent jobs in industrial zones. In total, more than 199,000 jobs have been added over three years. Government support has reached over 16,000 business initiatives, with more than 1,100 grants awarded.
Major infrastructure upgrades have been completed. Over 700 kilometers of roads have been built or repaired, more than 330 kilometers of water supply networks laid, and utility systems modernized. Centralized water coverage now stands at 99.2%.
Additionally, 1,019 courtyards have been renovated, 224 apartment buildings underwent capital repairs, and 331 elevators were replaced. To modernize public transport, 1,200 gas-powered buses and 212 trolleybuses were purchased, and 30 new suburban routes launched.
Special attention has been given to youth initiatives.
"Through the Almaty Zhasitary (Almaty Youth) program, 4,554 young people received housing, over 30,000 found employment, and more than 2,000 participated in youth internships," Amanat representatives added.
The party emphasized that it remains committed to fulfilling its promises to citizens.
