Case No. 1612

A vigilant witness called police to Halensee early yesterday morning, reporting that just before 4:30 a.m., she had seen a man rummaging through the interiors of two vehicles parked along Bornstedter Straße. She also stated that he had attempted to break into other cars. Officers from a local precinct apprehended the 28-year-old suspect and found alleged stolen property from previous thefts in his possession, along with a folding knife and two canisters of pepper spray.

The man was taken into police custody and is scheduled to appear before a judge today, who will decide whether to issue an arrest warrant. A specialized investigative unit under Police Directorate 2 (North) is continuing the ongoing inquiry.
