BOPK Party Secures Full Control of Cebu City Hall for 2025–2028 Term

Cebu City Hall’s leadership for 2025–2028 is now firmly under the BOPK party. Both the mayor and vice mayor belong to the same political group, shaping how the city will be governed. Their roles divide executive and legislative control between them. Nestor Archival holds the position of mayor and oversees the executive department. His responsibilities include managing city operations and implementing policies. Alongside him, Tomas Osmeña serves as vice mayor, leading the legislative branch.

The vice mayor’s role carries significant weight in local government. As presiding officer of the council, Osmeña sets the agenda for meetings and casts the deciding vote in tied decisions. This influence extends to shaping laws and city priorities.

In the council, the majority bloc consists of Raymond Alvin Garcia’s Kusug and Mike Rama’s Baru factions. Their combined support strengthens BOPK’s control over key votes and legislative outcomes. With BOPK holding both the mayoral and vice mayoral seats, the party now directs Cebu City’s administration. The mayor manages daily governance, while the vice mayor guides lawmaking through the council. This alignment ensures a unified approach to city policies for the next three years.
