Brandenburg Pediatrician Charged with 130 Counts of Sexual Abuse Over 12 Years
A pediatrician in Brandenburg is facing serious allegations of sexual abuse. Public prosecutors in Potsdam have filed charges involving 130 offenses against sexual self-determination, including aggravated child abuse and rape. The accused remains in pretrial detention while the court reviews the case. The alleged crimes span nearly 12 years, from December 1, 2013, to November 5, 2025. Many of the incidents reportedly occurred during the doctor’s work in Rathenow and Nauen. Investigators claim the abuse took place under the guise of medical examinations and treatment.
The Potsdam Regional Court must now decide whether to proceed with a full trial. Prosecutors have presented extensive evidence, but the final decision rests with the judges. If the case moves forward, it could become one of the most high-profile trials involving medical professionals in recent years. The outcome of the court’s decision will determine whether the pediatrician stands trial. If convicted, the accused could face severe penalties under German law. The case has already raised concerns about safeguarding measures in medical settings.
