Bremen Court Launches Digital Claims System for Faster Justice

The Bremen District Court has launched an online system for handling certain legal claims. This new service aims to make court procedures faster and more cost-effective. For now, it is only available for private individuals filing monetary claims. The pilot scheme allows people to submit structured claims through a digital platform. Users must first register for a 'Mein Justizpostfach' (My Justice Mailbox) to access the system. The court hopes this will reduce paperwork and speed up case processing.

The Bremen District Court oversees all legal matters in the state, including cases from Bremen-Blumenthal and Bremerhaven. By moving some procedures online, the court expects to cut costs and save time for both staff and citizens. The new online service is currently limited to monetary claims from private individuals. It offers a simpler way to handle disputes without visiting the courthouse in person. Further expansion of the system may follow depending on its success.
