Fallen tree sparks fire and power cuts in Steinbach near Cadolzburg
A fallen tree caused a fire and temporary power cuts in Steinbach near Cadolzburg on Wednesday afternoon. The incident led to a swift response from emergency crews, including firefighters, police, and energy provider N-Ergie.
The tree toppled onto a medium-voltage power line, sparking a blaze upon contact with the cables. Several districts lost electricity as a result of the damage.
The fire service was alerted after the tree struck the power line and caught fire. Crews arrived quickly to extinguish the flames before they could spread further.
Authorities secured the area around the damaged line, which had been fully de-energized as a safety measure. Meanwhile, police and N-Ergie teams joined the operation to assess the situation. The outage impacted multiple districts, including Egersdorf, Pleikershof, Steinbach, and Wachendorf in Cadolzburg, as well as a small part of Ammerndorf. Engineers worked to reroute supply lines, ensuring power was restored without delay. Once the fire was under control, crews began removing the fallen tree and repairing the damaged power line. The coordinated effort helped minimise disruption for local residents.
Power was restored to all affected areas after supply routes were successfully rerouted. The damaged line was repaired, and the fallen tree was cleared from the scene. No further incidents were reported following the operation.
