Deadly crash in Harpstedt leaves one dead after intersection collision

A fatal traffic accident claimed the life of a 68-year-old man in Harpstedt on Friday evening. The collision happened when a 66-year-old woman from Delmenhorst failed to stop at an intersection. Meanwhile, police are investigating two separate break-ins in Wildeshausen and Hude. The crash took place at around 7:07 p.m. at the junction of Schützenweg and Großer Feldweg. The woman, driving through the intersection, did not yield, leading to the accident. Emergency services attempted resuscitation, but the man suffered severe injuries and died at the scene.

In a separate incident, thieves entered an apartment on Ahlhorner Straße in Wildeshausen by climbing through a tilted window. The time of the break-in has not been confirmed. Elsewhere in Hude, unknown offenders targeted a company van and stole a laptop, a smartphone, and a jacket. Police have yet to identify suspects in either case. Authorities are now urging anyone with information about the crash or the burglaries to come forward.

The fatal collision remains under investigation, with police examining the circumstances of the woman’s failure to yield. The break-ins in Wildeshausen and Hude also stay unsolved. Witnesses or those with relevant details are encouraged to contact local law enforcement.
