Elderly driver triggers Berlin crash spree, injuring pedestrian and damaging cars
Emergency responders were called to a traffic accident in Berlin's Buckow district yesterday morning. According to initial reports, an 84-year-old driver is said to have struck two parked cars while pulling out of a space in the parking lot of a grocery discounter on Marienfelder Chaussee at around 11 a.m. He then allegedly continued driving, hitting a 65-year-old pedestrian before colliding with three more vehicles.
The woman suffered leg fractures and was airlifted to a hospital for treatment. The case has been handed over to the specialized traffic crimes unit of Police Directorate 4 (South) for further investigation.
