FDP slams coalition partners over stalled bureaucracy reforms and broken promises

The Free Democratic Party (FDP) has voiced its discontent with the federal government's bureaucracy-reduction measures, with party leader Christian Dürr leading the criticism. Despite targeting Christian Lindner's party, the FDP's true grievance lies with the Social Democratic Party (SPD) and the Greens, accusing them of lacking reform readiness.

Dürr lambasted the coalition partners, asserting that they lack commitment to reform. He labelled the bureaucracy reduction measures announced by the federal government as 'mere sham packages'. Dürr further pointed to specific instances of broken promises, such as Friedrich Merz's actions regarding the debt brake and citizen's allowance. The FDP leader expressed concern that the promised cuts to red tape may not materialize as intended.

The FDP's criticism highlights the ongoing tension within the coalition government regarding reform initiatives. The party's concerns about the lack of commitment to change and the risk of government shutdown could potentially impact the government's future policies.
