Giessen/A485: Full Closure and Traffic Jam After Crash

A major accident on the A485 motorway yesterday caused significant disruptions to evening rush-hour traffic. Around 4:35 p.m., a collision involving a Renault, a Škoda, a Volkswagen, and a Mercedes occurred between the Schiffenberger Tal and Bergwerkswald exits. All four vehicles sustained damage. Two women, aged 25 and 58, were injured in the crash and taken to hospitals by emergency services. The roadway was fully closed for about 30 minutes, after which traffic could pass the scene in a single lane. The incident led to congestion and delays. Investigators are still working to determine the exact cause of the accident.

Giessen: Break-In at Restaurant

Between 11:10 p.m. on Wednesday (March 25) and 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, an unknown intruder forced open the front door of an African restaurant on Bahnhofsstraße. The burglar tampered with the cash register before fleeing unnoticed, leaving behind thousands of euros in damage to the door.
