A fire broke out in a garden shed on Binsenmattweg in Lörrach on May 1, 2026. Emergency services received the call shortly after 5:45 p.m., with reports of thick smoke and flames coming from the property. The blaze began when a wood-fired oven was lit, causing an unexpected flare-up. The sudden burst of flames spread quickly, igniting parts of the shed’s roof. Within minutes, thick smoke and fire engulfed sections of the structure.

Firefighters arrived promptly and brought the situation under control. They extinguished the fire before it could spread further. Meanwhile, the person responsible for lighting the oven suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the full cause and circumstances. The exact extent of the damage to the shed remains unclear at this time.

The incident resulted in no serious injuries, though the shed sustained noticeable damage. Police will continue their inquiry to establish whether any safety regulations were breached. Updates on the damage assessment are expected in the coming days.
