Krasnodar's Young Business School transforms youth into entrepreneurs in five years

Krasnodar has celebrated five years of its youth entrepreneurship initiative, the Young Business School. Launched in 2021 by Governor Veniamin Kondratyev, the program has since become a leading scheme in Russia for supporting first-time business owners among young people. The initiative was introduced to help young residents take their first steps into entrepreneurship. Since its start, over 12,500 participants have completed the courses. Of these, around 2,000 have gone on to establish their own businesses, while another 3,500 have registered as self-employed.

Graduates have benefited from more than 255 million rubles in low-interest loans to develop their ventures. Their combined tax contributions have reached nearly 500 million rubles across local, regional, and federal budgets. The program’s success has also led to its adoption in other Russian regions. The fifth-anniversary event was attended by key figures, including Yury Burlachko, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. During the celebration, the Young Business School was officially recognised as the best program of its kind in the country.

The Young Business School has helped thousands of young people enter self-employment or start companies. Its model is now being replicated beyond Krasnodar. The initiative continues to provide financial support and training to new entrepreneurs across the region.
