Heitersheim's new fire station cuts costs by €1.49 million in early contracts
Heitersheim’s new fire station and municipal works depot are moving forward with construction contracts. The city has already completed ten of the 42 planned tenders. Savings of around €1.49 million have been achieved so far. The project’s construction services were first estimated at €6.95 million. After tendering, the expected cost has dropped to roughly €5.55 million. This reduction represents about 10% of the total €14.37 million budget.
Schleith GmbH, a Freiburg-based construction firm, is set to receive €2.54 million for earthworks, concrete, and masonry. Nine additional trade packages remain to be assigned. These include structural work, electrical installations, heating, ventilation, and plumbing.
Architects and project managers will soon update the council on the next phases. The town council will then vote on further contracts at its meeting on May 12, 2026. The city has secured cost savings while progressing with key construction contracts. The next council decision will determine which firms handle the remaining trade packages. Work on the fire station and depot will continue as planned.
