Local Fire Station Honors Decades of Service and Unveils Digital Sirens
A local fire station recently held its annual ceremony, drawing 46 participants and guests of honour. The event highlighted achievements, new technology, and long-standing contributions from members of the association.
Among the key updates was the installation of digital sirens across the town and nearby hamlets. The gathering also recognised decades of service and community efforts.
The ceremony began with greetings from Georg Trautwein of the District Fire Inspectorate. He congratulated the newly elected local council members before proceedings moved to official reports. The minutes and treasurer's report were reviewed and approved without objection.
A moment of reflection honoured Richard Schneider and Fritz Hutter, two late members. The association then recognised Rudolf Angerer and Walter Rumi for 60 years of passive membership. Their long-term commitment was met with appreciation from attendees. Fire Chief Thomas Reuter presented a review of the past year, covering four emergency operations and multiple training exercises. Mayor Andreas Lieb commended the group's youth work, noting the 31 children in the fire department. He also highlighted their collaboration with Kaufbeuren in respiratory protection training. The event closed with mention of the association's support for Humedica's Christmas parcel campaign. With a total membership of 213, the group continues to play an active role in local safety and community initiatives.
