Malaysian leader urges stronger support for young M40 women facing economic strain
Datuk Nurul Amal Mohd Fauzi has called on the government to provide stronger support for young women in the middle-income (M40) group. She highlighted that many face growing economic and social challenges, often without adequate recognition or assistance. Speaking on the issue, Nurul Amal stressed the need for expanded access to income-generating opportunities. This, she argued, would help young M40 women participate more fully in the economy.
She also proposed raising tax relief per child from RM2,000 to RM3,000. The increase aims to reduce financial strain on families struggling with rising costs. Another key suggestion was extending the Budi Madani programme. Currently, it supports certain vehicle owners, but she urged inclusion for private diesel owners affected by recent policy shifts. To balance work and family responsibilities, Nurul Amal pushed for better childcare support. She recommended affordable, safe, and accessible nursery services, including workplace-based facilities. These steps, she said, would prevent young women from being stretched between career demands and home duties.
The proposed measures target financial relief, career opportunities, and childcare access. If implemented, they could ease pressures on young M40 women and help them manage both professional and personal responsibilities more effectively.
