Siemens reshapes leadership with new chairman and digital-focused board members

Siemens is preparing for leadership changes at its highest level. Nathalie von Siemens will leave the supervisory board after the next annual general meeting. Her departure comes as the company plans to appoint Mark Schneider as its new chairman in early 2027.

The board will also welcome two new members, Ola Rollén and Marion Helmes, to strengthen its digital expertise. Nathalie von Siemens, a representative of the Siemens family, has announced her decision to step down. She has expressed full confidence in the company’s selection process and in Mark Schneider’s ability to lead. Her successor on the board will be Christoph von Seidel.

Mark Schneider currently serves as an ordinary member of the supervisory board, a position he has held for nearly a year and a half. His formal confirmation as the future chairman is set for discussion at the next supervisory board meeting. If approved, he will take over after the annual general meeting in early 2027.

Jim Hagemann Snabe, the current chairman, has openly supported Schneider’s appointment. While acknowledging that Schneider lacks deep technological expertise, Snabe pointed out that other board members, including the new additions, would cover that area. He also predicted Schneider would perform well in the role.

The board is expanding with Ola Rollén and Marion Helmes joining as new members. Their arrival is intended to boost the company’s digital capabilities, ensuring a broader range of skills among its leadership. The changes will take effect after the annual general meeting in early 2027. Schneider’s appointment, if confirmed, will mark a shift in the board’s composition, with new members bringing additional expertise. The company’s leadership transition is now firmly underway.
