Police Statement
Our editorial team contacted the Turkestan Regional Police Department for comment.
"A pre-trial investigation is underway following a report from an Otrar District resident alleging unlawful acts against her underage son," the department stated.
Police noted that initial investigative measures have not confirmed any wrongdoing, and no physical injuries were found on the child.
"Nonetheless, the investigation continues to establish all circumstances. Additional forensic examinations have been ordered," the regional police department added.
Earlier, a 35-year-old man in Almaty was acquitted of charges of repeatedly sexually assaulting his cousin. The boy's relatives contest the court's ruling, alleging pressure from the defendant's family and demanding justice.
