Two Women Attacked After Confronting Smoker on Ludwigshafen Bus 76
A violent incident took place on bus line 76 in Ludwigshafen on Thursday evening. Two young women were attacked after one of them confronted a man who was smoking. Police are now searching for the suspect, who remains unidentified. The altercation began at around 6:10 p.m. on March 26, 2026. A 23-year-old woman asked the man to stop smoking, prompting him to assault her. When a 21-year-old passenger intervened, the attacker turned on her as well.
Both victims suffered minor injuries. The younger woman was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment. The suspect, described as between 25 and 30 years old with several days' stubble, then fled the scene.
He exited the bus at the Hochschule stop and ran away on foot. Witnesses reported he was wearing a black baseball cap, a dark jacket, and light-coloured pants.
Ludwigshafen Police Station 1 has appealed to the public for help in identifying the attacker. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities urging anyone with information to come forward. The two women involved received medical attention, though neither sustained serious harm. Police continue to review evidence in an effort to locate the suspect.
