Police crack down on drunk and drugged drivers in massive Rhön traffic operation
A major traffic operation took place on Monday across Fladungen and Bischofsheim in der Rhön. Police from three federal states and eleven stations worked together to check drivers. The focus was on removing those under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Officers from Mellrichstadt and Bad Neustadt led the operation, supported by nine additional units. They stopped twelve motorists during the checks.
Ten drivers were found to be intoxicated behind the wheel. Their vehicles were immediately taken off the road. Blood tests and further screenings were carried out on those suspected of impairment. The operation also uncovered two drivers operating without a valid licence. All suspects now face criminal investigations.
The enforcement effort aimed to improve road safety by removing impaired drivers. Those caught now face legal consequences. The checks involved coordination between multiple police units from different regions.
