Berlin man detained after indecent exposure and unconstitutional gestures near daycare
A 31-year-old man was detained in Berlin’s Mariendorf neighbourhood after exposing himself near a daycare centre. Emergency services responded to reports of indecent exposure on Rixdorfer Straße around 3:30 p.m. on an unspecified date. The incident also involved offensive gestures and remarks hostile to the constitution. Police arrived at the scene following calls about a man behaving indecently in public. Officers quickly located and detained the suspect. Witnesses reported that he had exposed himself in front of parents and children from a nearby daycare centre.
During the confrontation, the man allegedly performed the so-called 'Hitler salute' and made statements considered hostile to Germany’s constitution. He was then taken to a police processing facility for formal identification and a blood sample. After completing the necessary procedures, authorities released the suspect. The case has since been transferred to a specialised unit at Police Directorate 4 (South) for deeper investigation.
The investigation remains ongoing under the specialised unit’s supervision. Authorities will examine the suspect’s actions, including the alleged indecent exposure and unconstitutional behaviour. Further details will be released as the inquiry progresses.
