Valencia’s Freemasons unite for a landmark ceremony and leadership showcase

More than 100 Freemasons from the Province of Valencia gathered at the Bonalba Hotel on November 8, 2023, for the annual Provincial Lodge of Instruction. The event, hosted by Puerto de Xàbia Lodge No. 58, was a full demonstration of a Masonic ceremony, providing an important glimpse into the future of Freemasonry in the region, as stated by Rodney Bignell, Provincial Grand Master of Valencia.

Fifteen representatives from eight lodges worked together to prepare and present the event, giving newer members the opportunity to take on senior roles and develop skills in leadership, public speaking, and teamwork. Rafe Parker of Puerto de Xàbia Lodge No. 58 took on the role of Master of the Lodge for the day, following in the footsteps of Juan Carlos Martínez who held the position in 2021. The day ended with a celebratory dinner, allowing participants to share experiences and discuss the ceremony with the Province's most senior Freemasons.

There are 24 lodges meeting regularly across the Valencian region, with Freemasons in Valencia being part of the Grand Lodge of Spain. The Lodge of Instruction is one of the many ways Freemasonry encourages personal growth and fosters a sense of community among its members.
