Zheshart's Mobile Job Office Fights Rising Unemployment After Mill Cuts
A mobile employment office has been serving Zheshart since 2025, helping residents cope with rising job losses. The town's main employer, a plywood mill once supporting 1,200 workers, now faces production cuts that have pushed up unemployment. Local authorities are responding with daily support for those seeking new opportunities.
The decline of Zheshart's plywood mill has left many without work, forcing the district's Employment Center to take action. A specialised mobile office now operates in the town, offering both permanent and temporary job placements. On average, six former mill workers visit each day for guidance.
The centre provides more than just job listings. Residents also receive advice on labour laws, termination processes, and redundancy rights. While local openings remain limited, some applicants are now considering shift-work roles in other regions. Currently, around 250 vacancies are available in the employment database. The mobile unit ensures workers get immediate, targeted help as they navigate the changing job market.
The mobile employment office continues to assist Zheshart's workforce amid ongoing economic challenges. With daily consultations and a growing list of job openings, the service aims to reduce unemployment caused by the mill's downturn. The initiative remains a key resource for those seeking stability in uncertain times.
