Aston Martin names Bentley's Adrian Hallmark as new CEO ahead of 2026 EV launch

Aston Martin has appointed Adrian Hallmark as its next CEO. The experienced automotive leader will take charge by 1 October at the latest. His arrival comes as the luxury carmaker prepares to launch its first electric vehicle by 2026. Hallmark brings decades of industry experience to the role. From 1999 to 2005, he led sales at Bentley before moving to Jaguar Land Rover. He later returned to Bentley in 2018 as CEO, where he guided the brand’s shift towards electric vehicles.

His appointment follows a period of leadership changes at Aston Martin. Tobias Moers became CEO in 2020, during the pandemic, but left in 2022. Amedeo Felisa then took over, overseeing key projects like the upcoming DBS successor—rumoured to revive the Vanquish nameplate. Felisa will remain in place until Hallmark’s arrival.

Under Hallmark’s leadership, Bentley announced plans to go fully electric by 2030. Aston Martin now aims for a similar transition, with its first EV expected in 2026. The brand’s strategy mirrors Bentley’s earlier moves, suggesting continuity in Hallmark’s approach. Hallmark’s arrival marks a new phase for Aston Martin. The company will focus on electrification while finalising the launch of its next flagship model. His experience in steering Bentley’s EV plans could shape Aston Martin’s future direction.
