Bad Salzungen's Burgsee Promenade introduces strict new rules for visitors
Bad Salzungen’s Burgsee Promenade has become a favourite spot for visitors since its redesign in 2023. The 1.4-kilometre loop around the lake offers a scenic route, but new rules now govern its use to keep the area orderly and safe. The promenade follows the edge of Burgsee, providing a peaceful walk for tourists and locals alike. As part of Bad Salzungen’s city centre, the entire loop falls under an alcohol-free zone. Anyone caught drinking in the area risks facing fines.
Access is strictly limited to pedestrians. Bicycles, e-scooters, and other two-wheeled vehicles are banned from the path. These restrictions aim to maintain a relaxed atmosphere and prevent accidents along the busy route.
The updated rules ensure the promenade remains a pleasant destination for all. Visitors can enjoy the lake views without disturbances from alcohol or fast-moving traffic. Authorities will enforce the measures to preserve the area’s appeal.
