EGEAC workers strike over pay and worsening labor conditions
The STML union accuses the company's management of "persistently refusing to properly value the wages of the workers who keep the company running" and of offering only "empty statements with no real impact on employees' lives"—promises that "are not backed by concrete decisions on job reclassifications, salary adjustments, working conditions, schedules, professional training, or occupational health."
Workers are demanding a 15% pay rise, with a minimum increase of €150 per employee, arguing that this year's planned wage hike—"€56 or 2.15%"—is "clearly inadequate."
The union has also cited the erosion of workers' rights at EGEAC over recent years as a key reason for the strike, along with management decisions that "are creating instability within teams and uncertainty about the future of projects, equipment, and even the company's public mission."
