Off-duty police officer stops armed robbery at Berlin gas station
A 19-year-old man was arrested after robbing a gas station in Berlin’s Falkenhagener Feld district. The suspect allegedly threatened three people with a firearm before being overpowered by an off-duty police officer at the scene. Authorities have since launched an investigation into the incident.
The robbery took place at a gas station on Am Bogen. The suspect brandished a weapon and demanded money from staff and customers. Three individuals were directly threatened during the confrontation.
An off-duty police officer, who happened to be at the station, intervened. He disarmed the suspect and held him until backup arrived. The 19-year-old was then taken into custody. Following his arrest, the man was transported to a hospital for a blood sample. The criminal investigation division of Directorate 2 (West) is now leading the case.
The suspect remains in custody as police continue their inquiries. The off-duty officer’s quick action prevented further harm during the robbery. Authorities have not yet released additional details about the investigation.
