Pensioners may get a second mid-year bonus—if finances allow
The prime minister first had a chance to address the issue in a response to the Portuguese Communist Party (PCP), using the opportunity to defend the policies that are currently blocking an agreement with the UGT trade union.
The rising cost of living also resurfaced in the debate. There was still time to discuss pensions, with the government acknowledging the possibility of a new mid-year bonus payment—but once again, its approval would hinge on the state of public finances.
