Schleid's Mayor Bernadett Hosenfeld-Wald Seeks Re-election in 2026
Bernadett Hosenfeld-Wald, the current volunteer mayor of Schleid, is running for re-election on June 7, 2026. The 49-year-old, backed by the CDU’s Geisaer Land branch, has led the community since 2020 with a focus on local development and unity. Hosenfeld-Wald was unanimously chosen as the CDU’s candidate for the upcoming mayoral race. Her campaign slogan, 'Together for our homeland. Together for the future.', reflects her commitment to collaboration and progress.
Before entering politics, she spent 21 years at Technolit GmbH in Großenlüder. Currently, she works in administration at the Fulda district’s school centre in Eiterfeld. Outside of work, she sings with the Hainzell Shanty Choir and supports the Kranlucken Fire Brigade Association. During her time as mayor, several major projects have moved forward. These include the construction of the K93 district road in Kranlucken and the Ulster Bridge in Schleid. She has also prioritised clean, well-maintained districts and stronger support for local volunteer fire departments. Married with two daughters, Hosenfeld-Wald balances her professional and community roles while advocating for Schleid’s future.
If re-elected, Hosenfeld-Wald will continue her work on infrastructure, public safety, and community engagement. The election on June 7, 2026, will determine whether she remains at the helm of Schleid’s development for another term.
