Wiesbaden's city council opens public meetings on housing, transport and climate

Wiesbaden’s city council has scheduled a series of public committee meetings next week. Topics on the agenda will range from housing and transport to education and environmental policies. Each session will begin at 5:00 PM on different days, with leadership elections also planned. The first meetings take place on Tuesday, May 5. The Environmental Committee will address issues like heat transition planning and free Saturday bus travel. At the same time, the Committee for Women, Equality, Health, and Care will convene to discuss social and healthcare matters.

On Wednesday, May 6, two sessions are planned. The Social Affairs Committee will examine subsidised housing misuse and social welfare programmes. Meanwhile, the Audit Committee will review financial oversight and accountability reports. The final meetings occur on Thursday, May 7. The Education, Culture, and Town Twinning Committee will focus on funding for influencer campaigns and cultural initiatives. Simultaneously, the Mobility Committee will tackle transport policies and infrastructure projects. All sessions are open to the public, with leadership elections forming part of the proceedings.

The meetings will cover a wide range of local concerns, from housing and transport to education and environmental strategies. Residents can attend to observe discussions and witness the selection of new committee leaders.
