Teen driver's reckless chase through Black Forest ends in arrest
A 19-year-old driver was pulled over in the early hours of Sunday, March 29, 2026, after police spotted his car missing a front license plate. The incident quickly escalated when the man refused to stop, leading officers on a chase through the Black Forest region.
The encounter began at around 1:15 a.m. on the B500 near Schluchsee. Police signalled for the vehicle to stop, but the driver ignored the command and sped off toward Seebrugg. During the pursuit, he repeatedly swerved across the centreline, raising concerns about his ability to control the car safely.
The chase came to an end on a forest road near the L170. When officers approached, the teenager physically resisted arrest. His behaviour suggested he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, prompting immediate action. Authorities confiscated his driver's license and transported him to a hospital for a mandatory blood test. The young man now faces an investigation for suspected drunk driving and resisting law enforcement.
The driver remains under investigation while test results are processed. His refusal to comply with police and erratic driving led to serious charges. The case will proceed based on the findings of the blood analysis and officer reports.
