North Texas voters decide mayoral and council races this weekend

North Texas voters decide mayoral and council races this weekend

Local elections are underway across several North Texas cities this weekend. Voters in Irving, North Richland Hills, and Keller will choose new mayors, while other towns hold special elections and city council races. Polls opened at 7 a.m. and will close at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 2. The mayoral races feature multiple candidates in each city. In Irving, voters will decide between Zhanae Jackson, Olivia E. Novelo Abreu, and Al Zapanta. North Richland Hills offers a choice between incumbent Jack McCarty and a challenger named Literally Anybody Else. Over in Keller, the ballot includes Ross McMullin, Tag Green, and Ed Prem.

Special elections are also taking place in Grand Prairie, Euless, Grapevine, Hurst, and Richland Hills. City council positions are up for grabs in several locations, with each race listing its own set of candidates. Early in-person voting ended on Tuesday, April 28. Results for all races will begin rolling in once polls close at 7 p.m.

The outcomes of these elections will determine leadership in key North Texas cities. Official results will be announced after voting ends on Saturday evening. Voters have until 7 p.m. to cast their ballots.
