Fire in Celle apartment prompts swift evacuation and rescue
A fire broke out in an apartment on Harburger Straße in Celle on Friday. Smoke poured from a second-floor flat in a residential building, prompting a swift response from emergency crews. No injuries were reported in the incident. Firefighters arrived after reports of thick smoke coming from the building. The blaze was contained to a single room, and crews used a standard hose to put it out. No one was inside the affected apartment when the fire started.
Residents in the rest of the building evacuated on their own. Meanwhile, firefighters rescued one person from a third-floor flat. The operation involved units from Celle’s main fire station, Groß Hehlen’s volunteer fire department, and the city’s logistics and command teams.
During the response, Harburger Straße was completely closed to traffic. Authorities have not yet determined what caused the fire. The fire was extinguished without any reported injuries. Investigators are still examining how the blaze began. Traffic along Harburger Straße returned to normal once the scene was cleared.
